Why I wanted to do things differently
Behind Kleijweg Makelaars is myself: Hans Kleijweg. No big office, no handovers, no changing faces. Just one person standing beside you at an important step.
After years of living and working in Katwijk, Rijnsburg and Valkenburg, I noticed more and more: things could be different. Quieter. More personal. With more attention to the story behind a house and the people who live in it.
That's why I started Kleijweg Makelaars.
From industry to brokerage
My career did not begin in brokerage, but in industry. A world where plans, processes and precision are important. I still take that way of working with me.
But what I missed was the human contact. The conversation. Guiding people through choices that have a real impact on their lives.
The move into brokerage was therefore a conscious one. This profession is not only about stones and numbers, but about trust, timing and feeling. And that is precisely where my strengths lie.
Locally rooted
I have lived in Katwijk, Rijnsburg and Valkenburg for over 25 years. I know the neighborhoods, the atmosphere, the small differences between streets and districts. I know where people like to live - and why.
That local involvement is not a marketing term, but daily practice. It helps position homes better, guide buyers better and advise sellers more realistically.
A house never stands alone. Its surroundings tell at least as important a story.

A house sells better when people can feel at home right away. That's why I work with an experienced home stylist.
She looks at a home with a fresh, professional eye and gives practical styling tips. No major interventions, but smart adjustments that create tranquility, space and a strong first impression.
The goal is not to make a home more beautiful than it is, but to show what is already there.
